    Temp gauge-gctid811130

What is wrong, I installed new gauges (mercruiser basic gauges) and temp gauge rises all the way up within about one minute. Engine is not overheating. When I shut down the engine, temp stays up and and wont go down, until I put the power on again...?

        Must be a faulty gauge.

Doesn't the gauge have to match the sender.

Say a outboard gauge, will it read the sender ?
