    Exhaust through lower-gctid811063

    Simple question maybe....

Does the exhaust run through the lower for muffling and dissipation, or is there other reasons?

It seems it wouldn't be for performance of the prop.
Can't afford a nice boat. Gotta make a cheap one nice enough.

    Muffler.

You can run straight pipe out the back, then it's louder then chit.

Its loud for sure. Sounds kinda bad ass though.

I talked to a friend heavy into boats, he said there's a bit of theory stating:

The aeration from the exhaust can create a little cavitation type prop environment at initial acceleration that allows the prop to accelerate more quickly.

      In a nutshell.

      Seemed to make sense.
