OMC cobra 2.3 oil leak from water pump adapter-gctid809833

Got it done! Brute force with right tools did the trick

I noticed some oil leaking from the upper weep hole on the starboard side of my sterndrive. After some investigations I found out, that the leak is coming from the water pump. The seal from adapter is the cause in my books.

Got the adapter off and I'm a bit bit confused how to get that seal replaced. Behind the adapter there is clearly a piece that holds the seal in place, but i haven't got it off... any advice? Getting a new adapter? : )

EDIT: It was late last night when I worked on the thing.. Now in the daylight I can clearly see, that there is no piece that holds the seal in the adapter... It's casted on the adapter. I'm taking a guess, that it needs to be taken out with force...I'm still after some good advice, if anyone knows how to make this work. I read the repair manual long time yesterday and it stopped on removing the adapter.
