    Weeping thru hull fitting-gctid809700

Hoping the BOC can help...just launched my 2003 285 ciera and noticed the thru hull fitting for the air conditioner is weeping water...seems to be from the fitting above the backer board, not in between the backer board and hull...anything i can attempt while in the water...thanks for the advice

Are you talking between the bronze nut and backer board or from the ball valve. Also is the thru hull assy; solid ??if theirs any play at all I would not do in the water, other wise you could try to tighten the bronze nut.

    Good luck Brad

So upon further inspection it seems the valve itself is leaking...luckily after the shut off. Not leaking at the backer board or anything like that... it appears to ne leaking where the valve can be taken apart...first thoughts were to take apart after the shut off, reseal butnervous to start wrenching while it's in the water...any recommendations on a product to apply directly on housing of valve to stop this leak...maybe 4200???
