    hard steering in a 1998 bayliner 2858-gctid397657

I need some help here, my dad recently purchased a bayliner 2858 and the steering on it is extremely hard he has replaced the power steering pump in it and just put a new actuator on it. He has also blew down the lines to make sure they were not clogged. And replaced all the fluid. I am sure it is something simple that we are overlooking. Have any of you had a similar problem or have any idea what the problem could be.. Thanks for the help.

My 2855 was very hard to steer. It was consistently hard from lock to lock. Turns out it was the steering cable. $400 installed. You can buy for about $140 and DIY.

If it is hydraulic is there still a steering cable I think that the hydraulic lines run all the way to the steering wheel?

Are both stations hard to steer? Looking at the baylinerparts.com schematic it looks like there may be hydraulic lines all the way up to the helm stations. It shows the type of cable you have here:
