My Heart Freedom 20 Charger / inverter is not charging. I replaced the four 6 volt batteries that went south during the winter and now the inverter seems to not charge correctly. The Batteries are connected in two twelve volt systems. I am only getting a charge of 12. 5 on both banks. What am I doing wrong or is it a wiring or inverter issue. Help, I am getting tired of the battery issues. Garchar.

The Freedom series Charger / Inverter receives 12 vdc inverter power directly from the HLBB via the large cables. These cables also supply the charge rate to that battery bank.
Are you using this Freedom unit as an Inverter?

The inverter does not charge..... pretty sure you just made a type-o.
The Charger portion of the Charger/Inverter should offer a charge rate if it's working correctly.
Gary, the reason for my asking you if you are using this unit as an Inverter, is that the inverter connection requires that the large cables be used to connect to the HLBB.
These same cables (not wires) take the charge rate to the HLBB via the charger aspect of the Charger/Inverter.
Here is an older version of a Charger/Inverter.
Note the large cables.
These cables make a direct connection to the House Load Battery Bank (fused correctly) as to power the inverter portion, and also serve as the charge circuit for the same bank.

You will also see a charge lead for a second battery bank, and possibly for a third bank depending on the unit.

Assuming everything worked before and your not missing any parts I would say that the inverters internal memory battery is toast and it lost all its presets. You can get the manual online and perform a reset and program the charge parameters again. You have the heart interface display panel right ? If so I think entering setup mode is no more difficult than holding down two buttons for ten seconds and then your in. When you are, all the buttons and lights have new designations and you need the overlay of the faceplate that's in the manual, setup is simple once you figure that part out. After that It should work fine, those inverters are absolute tanks. I would also recommend that if you have the skills and opportunity, remove the inverter and remove the case and blow it out with compressed air, sometimes there's enough salty dust inside to mess with things. Good luck.
