Hello. I recently reinstalled my 1992 Mercruiser 5.7 carburated thunderbolt 4 ignition. I installed a updated ignition sensor and wasn't getting any spark. I reinstalled the old style and now the engine tries running while cranking but dies soon after the key returning to run position. fuel is good and I've also run it off separate fuel tank with no change. Ran the troubleshooting procedure in my manual and have power at coil and white/red wire on pickup coil. removed coil primary and tested output by grounding wht/grn wire with no spark.
My question is by the test results it's leading to a bad coil but i'm not 100% sure all the wiring is correct. Any input would be appreciated.
