    265 compass problem-gctid802945

    The Danforth compass on our 2006 Bayliner 265 has become damaged and I need to replace it. As you will all know, it's mounted on the horizontal deck, forward and just to port of the helm position and I cannot see how to access the mounting fixings for it. Direct access from underneath appears impossible as it is mounted above the one piece head/shower moulded cubicle. Before I start puling cabin deckheads down, or removing instrument panels from the helm position, I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of this that they could share with me?????

    Look for screws around the outside edge!

    Mine is mounted that way.

        Hello Don.

        Thanks for that, but sadly ours does not have any visible fixings???

        We will not be on the boat this weekend, but hopefully next and I guess I'll just have to remove some instrument panels and see if I can gain any access to the underside of it. Just when I thought all of those post winter maintenance/repair tasks were done and dusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!
