Won't crank, or cranks but won't start?

If no crank, there is an assist solenoid on the back side of the shift bracket. The smaller yellow/red wire is 12V from the key switch. Of the larger cables, one side is always hot from the battery, the other is switched power down to the starter. The wire to activate this solenoid is on the S terminal of the key switch. It also passes through the neutral safety switch and the safety lanyard. Look at the votages on this solenoid.

If crank but no start, then see if you have 9 - 14V on the + side of the coil. This comes from the purple/red resistor wire when running (probably 9 - 10V) and from the purple/black (12-14V) on the assist solenoid when cranking. Then coil resistance, points, condensor, cap, rotor, plug wire, plugs, etc.
