Gen III cool fuel filter cartridge-gctid394831

Help, where can I find a fuel filter for my Gen III cool fuel filter cartridge. Has anyone replaced the whole unit for a spin on fuel filter?

    Thanks for the help.

Price Info is a little dated but I think it will help... (Also note, you have a disk filter at the bottom of the filter container!!!) Not shown in Merc manual...

The filter is Mercruiser 35-866171A01 Filter Fuel "GEN-III Cool Fuel System" made by Sierra part # 18-7977.

    Disk filter: Quicksilver: 35-892665

Iboats.com: disk? 866171: Filter $33.29 each call to find if they carry. 1-800-914-1123

    Jmsonline: for 892665: $22.63 each 1-832-308-3163

      Doug,

Thanks for the very complete answer. Now if I can train one of my grandchildren to crawl down in the bilge and change the filters. When I get them trained to do that I will start on the sea water cooling pump. What in the world were they thinking when they put that pump in that position. I guess I will have to work on another puzzle. thanks again Doug. May you seas be easy and your fuel tank full.
