  • Bellows v/s tube-gctid391401

Blew my belows of the leg this weekend without knowing it. Told the wife the boat seems to be running better and seemed to have a bit more jam. Was cruising a couple of miles per hour faster and it did burn a bit less fuel this trip. When we arrived back at the dock and I was tying the boat down I noticed the bellows was off. Oh and there was no difference in the engine noise when we were running. Now for my question. Will an exhaust tubne actually give me more jam and burn less fuel? Oh yes I am running a 5.7 lt Mercruiser in a 24ft boat. What everyones opinion?

Due to bellows housing corrosion I also have a straight through exhaust. I didn't notice any additional power but the mice eating the bellows housing may have done so gradually. . .
