I know this is most likely a spark or fuel problem, but what are the things I need to check first. It ran just fine and fired up right away before it was pur away last fall. 2004 Trophy pro, mercruiser 5.0 fuel injected. Thanks

You can isolate fuel or spark by CAREFULLY pouring about half an ounce of gasoline down the throttle body, REMOVING the container that you just used to outside of the boat, and then trying to start the engine. If it fires briefly, you know that you likely have a fuel supply problem. If it doesn't fire at all, it's likely electrical.

Check:
(1) Kill switch on throttle
(2) fuses
(3) filters- spin on water sep on the engine and the in line filter forward of the batteries
(4) that you have fuel
(5) that the fuel pump comes on when the key is turned to the run position
(6) large 50A breaker atop the engine
