line them up, bring the dinghy home to install and glue. Here the glue dried very fast, once you set it on there its done. After you install the pads, bring the dinghy back to your boat, and install the davits themselves. I recommend waiting until the pads are fully cured before you install the davits on the platform, that way you can ensure everything is properly lined up. Space them as far apart as possible.

We just got our installed and all finished last week, they work excellent.

As to the dink, are those place higher or lower than the platform? That is, when you are in the water and want to attach it, should you have to lift the dink a little or push it down so it grabs the bracket... or should they be fairly level?[COLOR]"#0000FF" wrote:

I actually used some clamps to place the davits on the swimstep temporarily then suspended the dink from the garage rafters to check the dink placement. I wanted to be sure the dink would not interfere with the kicker I was installing.

To make that happen I had to set the dink 4 inches aft of the swimstep and used some stainless steel plates.

It is important to place the davits on the swimstep as wide as you can.

That's pretty much it. Sit the dink in the water next to your swimstep with the outboard on (if you have one). Get everything lined up the way you want, mark where everything goes, and do the installation. I put the stand offs on last as I wanted to be able to tip the dink up on the davits so I could mark where I wanted the stand offs to go.

    Follow the gluing directions carefully.

    Good luck

Snap Davits Have Arrived!... Now what?-gctid383054

Time to install. I understand all the warnings of moisture (don't do them at the dock, or on a humid day, etc.) but, do the pros out there have any suggestions or pitfalls to avoid?

I was told to line them up/adjust them before gluing, in the water with me and the motor on to simulate every day engaging - seems to make sense.

    Any other ideas?
Working...
