You can get a pump/faucett combination for about $90.00 from West Marine, this year's catalogue p. 483 or go online to West Marine.com and look up part # 385445. This would total $180.00. I assume you have a tank and hose to the existing faucet and hose to the faucet from the tank, should be able to connect the new faucet. Another solution would be to buy a galley pump like Par-Max or Aqua King and others. These are fresh water pumps ranging from #85.00 and up. Your installationwould not need a big powerful pump. Splice into the water line after the pump. You will need to run 12v wire to the pump to the electrical fuse box and switch. If you cannot do this then you will have hired labor.

How about replacing the two hand pump faucets if the above is too expensive? There are hand pumps listed in West Marine for about $60.00 and up p. 483. Or if you can find out what your existing pump is a service kit, might be doubtful with a 24 year boat. Even less $$ is carry a couple gallons of water and pour into a glass, etc.

If you really enjoy the boat and want the pump/ faucet consider the options. Investment of some money is to be expected. Something to think about.

Check out the RV stores, all of their stuff is 12v.

I have considered it but I am not sure that the cost is worth it on a 24 year old boat. I don't know what that cost would be as I know that I would not be able to install it myself.

Have you considered adding a pump and some faucets with valves, thus having a pressure water system? Seems like a big improvement over the hand pumps, especially in the galley.

    1988 2455 Faucet replacement-gctid380429

I am having difficulty with both pump faucets on my 2455. They are both original equipment Topsider faucets. When the weather is cool they seem to work fine. In warm to hot weather they will not draw water. I have checked the lines (where I can) and they do not appear cracked. However, after I have pumped about six times there seems to be a sucking sound coming out of the tap. Any suggestions as to possible solutions or a suitable replacement in Canada would be appreciated.
