I am installing new Faria inboard 6 gauge set of Chesapeake SS gauges in my 1988 2655 Bayliner. I put a new 5.7 300 hp Volvo Penta engine and outdrive in the boat in 2010. I used the same Starwar gauges and all connected perfect. When I connect the new Faria gauges will I need to Change any wiring connectors or will the old set be ok? I think There might be a couple of other 86 /89 /90 2655 owners who may be able to help via personal experience, but any and all advice is appreciated. Gary

The newer gauges likely have slightly different spacing than the Starwars gauges. This is unfortunate as it was nice being able to plug them in.
To make the new ones work, you will need new connectors OR you can just cut the old connectors, attach ring terminals and have at it. I went this route... and then used Molex multi-pin connectors to make them easily disconnect able.
I have a different boat but did the same and had to cut all the wires and connect ring terminals. Not really a problem as long as you do one at a time or label all wires otherwise they can get mixed up. Here is my first ever post showing the outcome.
