anyone with a 2002wa Trophy on a single axle ESCORT trailer?? need help-gctid379642

well got the boat all ready for the water and checked out the trailer... needs brakes and a new coupler and they are on order... We have trailer inspections here in PA every year and the registration must be matched to a tag on the trailer.....

my problem is there is nothing anywhere left on the trailer:thumb does anyone else have this setup that still has there tag that they can look at?? i was wondering what the gvw, etc is for the trailer. I was thinking of buying a trailer tag and punching all my info into it and attaching it to the trailer before even trying to get it inspected.... or does anyone have any other solution??

its a surge drum brake escort trailer with 15" tires/rims with a 1999 2002ff trophy on it and i know this is exactly the way it came from the factory....

anyone who can give me some help i would be very thankful!!

I do, Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, replaced the axle (single) already with a 6,000 single from E-Z-Loader, sorry. The "model" number of that trailer is BT20TG1B if that is any help.

Well after hours of web surfing... i found that i have a model bt20gbb-x trailer. according to the parts list for it has a 6000# axle and the drum/hubs are listed as 2750# so i am assuming that the trailer is around 4500-5000gvw... i found a part # for the vin tag, looked at the bayliner parts conversion to new part #'s and emailed a dealer hopeing maybe just maybe they have blanks that can be ordered....

other than buying a blank metal plate from a place in england for $40 and stamping my info into it.... seems like theres nothing else to do other than try stamping the vin into the frame of the trailer and hope its enough for the inspection station every year.... would much rather get something more legit though....

I originally bought and registered the Boat & Trailer in Oregon. Didn't require plates (and renewals) on boat trailers so I never worried about the VIN tag. Well, it sounds like Penn is like Washington where we moved to, they require anuual license plate renewal and when initially transferring the title, require an inspection of the VIN plate by a Washington State Trooper. I didn't know about it but the trooper came to the rescue by applying (for an additional fee of course) a Washington State VIN Plate with stamped VIN numbers that he made up on the spot. All I had to do was provide some documentation of how much the trailer weighted (910 pounds per Escort/Bayliner).

After two failed boating trip, where i had to follow my boat back to a trailer manufacturer (RoadRunner) in North Dallas, Texas, I had them

replace my trailer axle with a 6K axle as well.

per mine (1992) it is rated for 3750#. problem being I weighed my boat with half tank and it was almost 3900#. I have a 175 on it. I just ordered up a king tandem.
