    fuel tank removal-gctid378505

Can anyone tell how to remove the fuel tank from a 1994 2355 ciera. I can only see about 8in of the tank the rest appears to be under the aft cabin.Any info would be helpful

You're gonna be removing it through the aft berth.

Drain the fuel. Fill the tank with water. Secure all the power to the boat and shut off the batts.

Remove the aft mattress and put down carpet protection and tarps.

Set a plunge router to remove the depth necessary to get through the plywood floor in the aft berth. Plunge with a 1/4" bit and cut yourself a 12" circle right in the middle.

Find the edges and mark an opening giving yourself plenty of room to lift the tank up and out. Use your router to remove sections until get to those marks. Make a nice square opening as you'll need to replace that area with new plywood when done.

Drain the tank and then lift it high enough to cap all the openings, wipe it down and extract it. Break out your checkbook and reverse the process.
