Tips to Cummings 6BTA 250 raw water descaling-gctid378150

I would like to hear from anyone who has flushed the raw water side of your engines and get a tutorial with helpful tips. I was quoted $600 to flush and descale the raw water side and flush and change coolant in both engines. I this a good price? Would rather do it myself since I already do the crank case and transmission oil change.

Are there parts I can install to make this an easier and more frequent event?
