Mine would start and run in start position, but as soon as the key went to ON it would die. Both engines werre doing this, the cause was the lanyard switch. I had to remove the lanyard and I pushed the button 10 times on each, good as new. Just an FYI KISS will make life better

2003 would be the TB ignition system.
This engine is likely equipped with an electric fuel pump.
There will be a low oil pressure switch within the system that cuts the fuel pump circuit in the event of no oil pressure.
However, during cranking, this circuit is circumvented.... which may be why the engine runs during and shortly after cranking.
I'd look into the fuel pump circuitry, including the low oil pressure switch.

I have a 2003 bayliner 219, and it won't run it will turn over but not stay running, I had a mech friend stop by and we bypassed the power to the coil and she runs final but would like to have the wired the correct way any help would be nice. Sean
