Contact DB electrical, you may be able to buy a new one for not much more than a rebuild, they may be able to match up a delco 1 0r 2 wire alt, these are only about $66 to $70 each new they are on ebay, but this is their web site.
For the money, the Delco 10si Marine version is pretty hard to beat.
Can be a single charge lead... or what they call the 1 Wire....., or it can have the external excite wires... or what they call the 3 Wire.

$66.00 free shipping, about $10.00 more if you need a 2 belt pulley. They have 1 and 2 wire Alts, I will be buying one for a spare before I leave for Alaska in 4 weeks.
Based on what a rebuild kit costs and the amount of time it will take you to rebuild it, you will be in much better shape in terms of money spent and reliability by purchasing a new one. The price of marine alternators has come down considerably over the years. Check out the ones from DB Electrical. There are a bunch of them all over eBay as well.
Thank you all for the replies... Wow, I thought this was a boat and the alternator in the $400 range. Nice to see something is actually affordable! I'll be buying a new one!
