    Which Oil filter?-gctid373980

    1985 Chevy (Volvo) 305 ci V8.

Before I contort myself into the bilge (Twin engines makes it tight) does anyone know the Fram (or whatever) brand part number for the oil filter? No debates on the brand, I just need a number from any brand to cross reference. I just want all my stuff together before I head over to do the oil change.

Btw, the oil changer thingy, you know the one that you pump to create a vacuum to suck the oil out, is on sale at West Marine starting Thursday. $20 off.

Any good quality SBC long filter cartridge will work for this. I'd not use the short cartridge!

Warm the engine prior to make oil changing and cartridge removal easier.

Make sure that the old sealing ring came off with the old cartridge.

Pre-fill the cartridge to about 90%, and wet the new sealing ring.
