what size props are on your 3055 or 305?-gctid373402

    Hi all,

I have a 99 Bayliner 3055 Cierra with Bravo II Outdrives on 5.0's and am looking at getting a little more mph out of her without risking alot more fuel burn. Has anybody truly experimented or can tell me what the best setup would be? I currently have aluminum props on there as well right now and am thinking about stainless.

Are you reaching the proper Wide Open Throttle RPM ?

I am sure you know. You get a free increase in speed if you put the boat on a diet and by keeping the bottom.

While this is not quite an apples to apples comparison my 99 3055 had the 5.7 engine mated to Bravo II's. I upgraded to stainless steel props. They were 17 1/2" diameter 23 pitch props. I believe my aluminums were the same configuration. I am not sure if the props were the same with the 5.0.

What is your RPM at full throttle and normal load? This is the ONLY way to answer your question.
