    Old gas in tank?-gctid373374

1996 mercruiser 5.7L 2 barrell carb, 210 hp, alpha one gen II, 55 gallon fuel tank

The gas in my tank has been there since last summer. I add stabil every time i add fuel.

Is it safe for my engine to just use up the old gas at the lake, or should I have someone siphon it out and then add fresh gas?

    Thanks,

    Paul

Your fuel will be fine, and with the Stabil you're great. Go burn some gas!

If you lived next door to me, I'd say that we'd better siphon it out, and that I'll dispose of it for you! :kidding

I agree with Mike. One year is nothing to worry about.

If you are concerned, top it off with the highest octane rated gasoline.

You need to repent and go out and burn more fuel... It's the right thing to do...
