    Bravo II Stern-drive movement-gctid343666

Hi, Can anyone tell me if its normal for one stern-leg to have more sideways movement than the other ? At this point in time our boat is on the hard while undergoing maintenance. The other day while checking the drives i found that the port leg had quite a bit of lateral movement compared to the starboard which was quite firm with little movement at all. Is this normal ? if not what might the trouble be and what should I do to correct ? The port side also has a bit of a growl once its put into gear with the motor running. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers Steve

There is a bushing that is responsible for this. Sometimes it just needs adjustment, and sometimes it has to be replaced. There is a retrofit kit for a new-style bushing that is better. Look in your service manual for the step by step procedure, it's a little long to type it all out. Adjust it and see where that gets you.
