Just finished installing 9.9 kicker on our 1994 2650 cierra,all has gone good,but want to install hour metre to the merc kicker it is bigfoot 4-stroke long shaft with electric start,and trim.need to know if there is an easy access hot wire to accomplish this,then I am done this project thanks in advance for any input

Check out the Sendec units, it is internally battery powered, you wrap a wire around your spark plug wire. I stuck it to the cowl of my 9.8 merc with velcro tape, they use them on lawn care equipment so they're pretty durable. http://www.sendec-products.com/produ...-surface-mount

If you have electric start, you have an ignition switch. There'll be a hot side in, and another when the key is turned on. Connect your meter to this side, and you should be in business.
