Have about 1/8 - 1/4 tank of 2.5 year old fuel in my 175. Boat was properly stored, fuel treated. First - Fuel smells fine. Usually bad fuel will have that junk yard smell or turpentine, this smells just like gas. My initial thought is to just fill up the tank, mix it all up nice and good and attempt to start the motor. Now, I also understand it does not take much to just drain it. So if I drain it, is there a way to simply tap the fuel line and jumper the fuel pump? What is the best method? Or should I just leave it be and fill the tank with fresh fuel?
