I would leave well enough alone. SS is more durable, costs more, and do you really need more performance.

When I bought my SS prop for my 1950, it was aroud 375 -400ish I believe. I tested a bunch of props to make sure I ordered the right one. I got it on there, took her out...... 400 bucks I got a little faster holeshot and maybe 1mph more tops. It really wasnt worth the extra cost.

If your boat isnt performing to your liking you can always look into a different pitch aluminum.

Unless you're planning to spend most of your time towing and Skiing you don't need a 4 blade on a 185.

Make sure you prop is not damaged, dinged, or bent. And it's fine.

        Buy a killer stereo instead!:go-

The aluminum prop is easier on the gearcase should you smack into something.
