    faria gauges-gctid367365

hello all, i have a 86 2450 with the "star wars" gauges. the rpm stopped working last year and i cant seem to find one anywhere. i was looking at the faria gauge kits and was wondering if these will just plug right in and work. the ones im looking at say for bayliner/maxum boats but the pic they have of the back is kinda hard to see if its the same. if the plugs are different what would be involved with making them work? would be nice to get ride of the old square look. thanks

    Try; Surplus unlimited in Daytona.

They have a lot of surplus gauges at good prices.

It would suprize me if they did not have what you need.

next time you have the engine running, give the tach a good solid rap with your knuckle. I call it the Faria-Fix.

lol i did that. i took it apart and the needle basicly fell apart. the part that slides on to the pin split in two and broke off the back of the needle. thinking maybe some crazy glue and some luck i can get one more season out of it. would love to upgrade all the gauges but the $200 could go towards something else for sure.

for what it is worth, I replaced all my 2452 gauges with Faria. They look great but one consistently gets condensation inside. Not high quality to my mind.

thanks for the link tfl. that one has the same problem mine did, plus i dont think its for a v8. i ended up taking the gauge apart (real easy to do) and just used some crazy glue to put the needle back together. have to see if it lasts. i do hate the way these gauges look so im tryin to figure out what i want to do as far as a custom look.
