  • Bell Crank,Shift Lever and Roller-gctid360300

I've got my pivot housing out. The cable is completely disconnected from the Shift Lever. How free should the movement be for the Bell Crank & Shift Lever. Mine does not move to easily.

I'm considering taking them out and have reviewed the exploded parts diagrams and service manual. My Cobra is different than the pics I am seeing. In the illustrations, it shows a hole in the side of the pivot housing that gives access to the Bell Crank bearing. I don't have a hole like that. Or the alignment tool. Does anyone know the depth of the Bell Crank bearing? Also can this be replaced without the special tools?

    Thanks,

    Greg

OK I removed the Bellcrank. I cleaned the Bushing. The service manual refers to a Bellcrank Bearing and the Parts Diagram Shows a "Bell Crank Plug". To me it looks like a brass cap. Should this in fact have a bearing in it?

    Thanks,

    Greg

I'm starting to think I may need a new pivot housing. It looks like someone repaired this housing with JB weld or something. I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like but I think there is supposed to be a whole on the starboard side of the housing where the bellcrank cap installs. This hole is filled and after taking the bell crank out the cap fell out and there is no apparent way to secure another one in there.
