    Hi

I would like to change the old radio. I ask for help on two questions.

1)Is it necessary to continue to maintain the amplifier?, Considering I have only four speakers and a modern radio has enough power

2)Can you remove the front? For the rear would have to remove the wooden box and the lid is nailed

    thanks

Looks like the lower unit is an equalizer/amp. Probably wouldn't need any of the old stuff. Most new systems have built in EQ and more than enough power to run all your speakers. Your biggest issue will be filling the hole left from the old equipment.

thank you for your interesting contribution, really that's what I thought. The question is dismounted as the most convenient, I can try but if someone already has experience would bring me

To help fill the openings you could purchase a double DIN unit. Measure first but it may work.

That mounting plate is made of aluminum and can be replaced with a new piece of powder coated aluminum with a cutout for your new radio. You could also make a new faceplate out of wood or plastic to cover the entire opening... Pretty easy job to do...
