    Bayliner 4387 exhaust replacement

    Greetings!

I have a 4387 (gas engines) and I keep having an issue with the exhaust leaking water onto the starters. I'm having to replace a stater almost every year. I've had two different mechanics try to repair the exhaust and the last time they even tried to re fiberglass it. It's leaking again and the starters are starting to corrode because of it. We couldn't find replacement exhaust last time around which is why we went the fiberglass route.

Anyone know how to get replacement exhaust in good condition?

I appreciate any advice. Thank you

Adrian, some pictures of the leaking area of exhaust and some over all pics of the area would be helpful as well as a bit more detail of the engines (I'm assuming big blocks). Is the hose leaking, the risers, etc.

A buddy of mine with a Carver and twin 454 engines had a leak. He replaced both fiberglass parts with black iron pipe. PO had tried to seal the leak but failed. I wondered how hard that could be to fix it and asked to see his failed part. I cleaned it up and found the area that had been sealed was not the area of the leak. I fixed it perfectly with fiberglass mesh and epoxy. Its probably much easier to correct the leak with the part off of the boat. I keep referring to this as the part because I just woke this morning and brain is still lagging. I am pretty sure it was a T.
