    3870 maybe for sale

    Good news for 38 owners!!

We were on our 1986 3870 last weekend watching A QUITE PLACE...OH MY GOD, TALK ABOUT JUMP OUT OF YOUR SEAT!!

There's a knock on our boat. Pause the movie, go outside, and can I help you.

Hi, I'm the boat broker at your marina and I want to buy your boat.

He says ever time he takes people to view a boat, they have to pass ours, and they say, I want one of those.

My boat is not for sale but he offered me $90,000.00 for it.

That's close to what I paid in 2007.

I just turned 69 year old yesterday, so we are thinking about. He sold four 38's last month.

I always liked 38's so I guess we did good.

    ,Still love mine......Motor Home.....maybe!

    Wow! Where were you?

I looked at BananaBelt as they had four 38's last time I they have zero available. My better half would like to upgrade but we are just getting it setup how we like.

Johnny, I'm guessing that's Canadian funds, but still crazy prices. There was a 1989 with gassers here in Ontario that they were asking 89,900.00. Think it's dropped a bit now but still!
Tough call to sell I'm sure, it has always sounded like you really enjoy your 38, but maybe a motorhome for a few years then maybe get another boat when you're done with it and prices are back down

I know lots of guys well into the 70's going strong and more than a few over 80.

It's expensive to get back in.

JV, I am 67, still older than the boat! I was marveling last week that our '38 is almost 38 years old. The local broker in La Conner keeps asking us also-when is that boat available.

As I watched 3 other '38s roll into Reid Harbor last week I still believe the profile of the boat is just as cool looking now as when they built 'em in the 80's!

Just going to turn 70 this month and still going. Not thinking of turning her in either. I do admit to paying top dollar for her 4 years but I think she is a keeper. The broker offered me more than I paid for her the following year!

I came across a craigslist posting for a 1990 38 where they were asking $75k! Our boats are more valuable now!

Always in IMHO one of the best looking profiles Bayliner made.

Agreed. I have a 3270 with gassers. My wife would love a full size fridge and a better shower.
