    Victron Argo FET Battery Isolator

Although many of us have successfully replaced the original diode battery isolators with Blue Sea ACRs, Victron has marketed an FET isolator that doesn't have the mechanical points that could wear out. However , before we replace our ACRs with the Argo FET version, I noticed some instillations are having problems: Argofet 200-2 Energize passing current to output - Victron Community (victronenergy.com)

    hmmm

I have to say that I'm a big fan of the Blue Seas ACR's. The ones on my boat have been in service for a decade

Recommend you check with Jeff Cote at Pacific Yacht Systems (marine electrical specialists) in Vancouver, BC; 602-284-5171. He is a big proponent of ARGOFETS and explains why. Based on his assessments, I have purchased and installed four: A 200-2 for my 3270 140A high output Port alternator (charging 4 flooded House batts); a 100-2 for my 3270 OEM 50A Stbd alternator (charging 2 flooded batts; 1 ea. Start and bow thruster/windlass); a 100-2 to direct the single-output 55A charger current to the 3270 House Bank and Start batts; a 100-2 for my 2670 94A high-output alternator to charge the 3 x House Bank batts and the 1 x Start batt. No problems so far. While I believe Jeff may have an "arrangement" with Victron (i.e., a distributor), I perceive him to be a knowledgeable, objective, and honest reporter.
