    Yachtworld Changes

From all the comments about people looking for the next boat, I assume that most of us look at Yachtworld a lot.

My question is have you found that the recent changes to the website have made the site far less usable than before?
In fact I used to check it daily - it to me is now so user unfriendly that I don't even use it anymore.

For me several negative things about the redesigned search functions are
-Can't load more than one boat manufacture at once
    -Don't have regions any more
    -Can't select multiple states
    -Recent searches don't work
    -Can't select views per page

There are other things that have changed for the worst - but I will stop there.

Just wondering if it is me or are others unimpressed.

BTW - sent email to company but as expected never got a response

Couldn’t agree more, a friend of mine who is a broker told me yachtworld has been buying up other boats for sale websites and has been jacking up their rates. I also sent an email that was returned as undeliverable.

I have also noticed it is not as user friendly as it used to be. I thought it was just my unfamiliarity with the format. Interesting.... take something that was the go to for people interested in boats and make it hard to use. I would think there is a profit to be made by encouraging people to just look at your site?

I bought my present boat from an add on Yachtworld and was very impressed with the add and how the selling dealer handled everything. But as you said it is now to slow and to user unfriendly.

I’m using the Yachtworld Australia site. It’s still the “old” format.

Thank you so much, once I figured out they were looking for meters not feet, it worked like a charm. This is a perfect example of “fixing” something that’s not broken.

Thanks for the AU site - "That's what I'm talk'n about!"

If the users don't complain, nothing will change. I just sent them a note through the contact page on their site. I suggest you all do the same.

I totally agree that their latest revisions suck. Thanks for the above link that takes us to the advanced boat search that we are all used to. I agree with Norton, let them know your concerns and then if they don't respond walk. I'm sure they look at data and will respond through a combination of comments and reduced visits. Sad to see a formerly great site go down hill.

Might also provide feedback to any brokers with whom we have any exchange. That’s their sales tool and if the buying public doesn’t like it maybe the brokers might consider a different web tool.

As noted in the original post, I did send a email to contact email - but alas - not even an acknowledgement of receiving the comments.

But agree that they must see them so the more complaints the better

I did my part. Sent a reasoned message with specific shortcomings of the new tool. And I couldn’t resist implying the changes would create more clicks that might benefit their bottom line.

Be aware that when using the AU site, you may not get the same results as when using the "new", rather ineffective search method, site. I have done several searches with the AU site that did not reveal active listings on the New one.
