The anchor light located on top of the arch will not go out. I had to disconnect it along with the courtesy lighting of the flybridge.
Probably a bad ground somewhere. Did anyone encounter a similar problem? Where should look first?
Thanks!
Suspect operator error, or a bad switch on bridge or below. Probably not a bad ground, that would likely keep lights from working at all. Once I had similar issue and found a wire with a connector had fallen off a switch and had stuck next to a hot lead on another switch on back of power panel keeping running lights on.

If you had to disconnect the courtesy lighting to make the anchor light go out, that may be a clue. The anchor and running lights have switches at both helms. The courtesy lighting on the bridge is only actuated by bridge switches. Sounds like your problem is in the bridge switches somewhere.

I do not have anchor/courtesy switches at the lower helm. The switches are on the bridge and there is a small wiring harness that will feed the arch. It is easy to rewire the light but I would rather find the problem. There must be some corrosion somewhere.

Roger, you may have a point there. This was my first season with the boat and I used the running lights only once. I always operate the boat from the bridge but if there is a running lights switch at the lower helm (?) I may have used it at that moment.
I will have a look the next time I go to the boat. I have an access door in the wrap.
Thanks.

There should be a 2 pos switch, center off at the lower helm. UP is your running lights, and DOWN is the anchor light. On mine, it's the left top switch in the set of 6 switches that sit just to the right of the helm pump. On the flybridge, you have 2 single throw switches for this, one for running and one for anchor.
I had a similar problem last season, turned out to be moisture in the switch up top. Hope this helps.
