    hynautic steering

I have the Hynautic steering on my 43.88, with pressure reservalve model rv-55 or rv-55p not sure it all bayliners came with this style hydraulic steering. Just wondering if any one sucks out and purges system with new oil and how often. looking in sight glass its pretty dark. by instructions looks pretty straight forward how to do this, just looking for any warnings or tips.

I changed mine, but that was after I damaged one of the hoses under the reservoir. I couldn’t find anything in the manual about changing the fluid as part of regular maintenance.

The color always looks dark through the sight glass even after changing good part of the fluid after autopilot installation.

        Also, it might be ATF.

I used the recommended, precious, fluid. The manufacturer says to use ATF in a pinch.
