    4588: Leaky Keel

    Jeeeeez.....here it is. The crack you see in the pic is daylight through the keel. 2 feet long, only on the port side, previous repair location, they did a crappy job. We will NOT do a crappy job on this repair.

    BTW, started a blog in the blog section. I won't keep updating here, but rather on the blog.
    Companionway, space off to the immediate left is the W/D compartment. Insane!!

      Looks like the guy that lays up the keel took the day off.
      How thick is the keel at that point?

        The keel is about 2" deep at the beginning of the opening and 4" deep at the end.

          You've already had it repaired previously? I'd be calling their insurance company, that's a massive hole

            I think the repair will need to be ground out and re-laminated from the top and the bottom, it should be a tapered repair 360 deg around the hole.
            A well qualified marine fiberglass repair tech. should do the repair use iso type resin so it can be re-gel coated, not ortho, iso resin is moisture proof.
            I believe Bayliner used iso resin in the hull.
