    Almost...1988/3888 a'comin...one more day

    So...tomorrow is the closing on my '88 3888/3870, Cummins/210's...

About a month ago, having looked at 7-8 38's over the Winter, we first visited this boat and decided it was the one...natural process followed...offer, acceptance, survey/sea trial, final paperwork, etc...

The sea trial was educational...surveyor was phenomenal (thermal image camera, moisture meter, hammer)...boat rides smooth as silk, quiet...16-17 cruise, 20 WOT...engines within 5 degrees of each other... In the process, survey uncovered a couple of items that will be repaired by late March/mid-April (depending on weather).

Until then I'll be visiting and getting familiar and going through manuals and paperwork and tightening this and that, replacing this and that, checking and changing all the right stuff for the trip from Baltimore to New York... (yes, I read manuals)

Oh, yeah...I think I'm a bit excited...will need to change my signature line tomorrow

Thank you...I've had boats since mid-80's and don't have a single picture of any of 'em underway...maybe I'll get a drone to capture this one...LOL...

I do have all the listing pictures...I can post some of them...

      Thanks

Congratulations! I’m part way through converting my project pictures into PowerPoint “what I did” files so they are faster and easier to email. If you are interested in any of the stuff I did, let me know.

Thank you, Pete...you were one of the first to respond when I first joined and showed some of the updates you made and I am interested. I went back to that old post and it appears the pics have vanished...I was going to PM you to let you know and ask for some additional details on those projects.

Anxious to see them...especially interested in the ladder change you made in the cockpit and the storage space under the steps to the galley. I will be doing the same...

I'm sure I will have a ton more questions...

It is getting close for me also. Looking forward to delivery of my new Marinette 39 Sedan next month. It's 5 hours away up in Michigan, so I don't get there often. There is some work being done to it by the seller as part of our agreement. Reports are that is going well. i hope to see next weekend. This is the only pic I have right now of the vessel.
