What Year Did Bayliner Stop Balsa Use

When did everything switch from balsa to foam core.
    Started boating 1965
    Bayliners owned: 26 Victoria, 28 Bounty, 32, 38, and 47 since 1996

I believe the use of balsa was more dependent on the boat design than the year. I say that, as my previous boat, a 4588, had a balsa core, but I remember the newer body styled smaller bayliners of the time didn’t. The Bayliner 4588’s were built from 1984 to 1993 when then redesigned the boat into the 4788 and eliminated balsa (among other things), as I understand it. I guess the question is, is there a boat you were interest in and curious if it has balsa? That might be an easier question to answer...

    i hope that helps...

did they ever? there would be a lot less soft deck boats around today had they used foam on the decks.
I have a foam cored, even the transom, power cat bay boat at our Florida place , it has open holes in the deck, I sunk it, beat It, and abused it. no rot 18yrs old. if it was wood cored more than likely be junk.
