    Westerbeke generator

My motor is a 8.0 kw BCD early 2000 that sat for years and has rust in the cyl
I removed the head and don’t see ant cyl wall damage but the engine will no break free.
I have not removed the gen end . Could the generator end seize enough that the engine won’t budge.
I ve soaked the cylinders with release all and fuel
hammered the tops of the pistons with wood.

Will the the gen end come off if I remove all the bolts and pull on it.

You and bryguy are working very similar issues. Because I have an Onan I’ve been concentrating on that brand but the reality is they are very similar. I would rotate the generator 90 degrees so I could get at the whole end from one hatch. I made plywood inserts that go from along side the prop tunnels to the shaft logs. Makes laying in there working on stuff a whole bunch easier. If you decide to remove it from the boat, slide it over to the starboard side, on mine there’s more room because of the muffler location, and have it lifted out.
