    Hi Sean
it looks like a momentary switch and my guess would be to operate a macerator.

Ah, could be. When I purchased the boat they said the macerator didn't work, so Ive never used it. Never had the need to turn it on. The knob seems to rotate and it can be pulled out about 1/4''.

well after your statement "Rotates" and closer inspection of the panel I was wrong...Its a light operated by the toggle switch next to it ....ops my bad.

I don't want to hijack the thread but what does the "open" mean in regard to the panel lights. two lit up squares mean "ok" but one square means "open". What does that stand for?

No ground?? Okay / Reverse / Open sounds like checking polarity and ground connections to me

The lights are the polarity indicator (Reverse Polarity Indicator or RPI). If it's anything other than "OK" you should unplug shore power. There's some more info at the link below. It may make more sense after you look at the wiring diagrams. Bayliner made it more complicated than needed. A single light indicating reverse polarity suffices.

                    Jake,
On the polarity indicator lights the "open" designation means that either the hot wire or the neutral wire is not hooked up. This could be anywhere in the shore power circuit.

Still cant figure out what the button/knob does. I pulled it out and flipped the panel light switch. No light came on. Any more ideas?

                          Hi Sean
The "button/knob" you pulled out does it have a slot cut into it ??.....If it does the that's were the light comes out and the bulb is missing,it uses a small auto type bulb.

Yes it has a slot. How do you get that part off to replace the bulb. I have pulled on it and twisted it with no luck.
