1986 3270, Engine hatch drain scupper

On my 1986 3270, my engine room hatches have a drain scupper in the corner of each hatch trough area (area where hatch seats on cockpit deck). For the starboard hatch the scupper is located in the rear starboard corner. Does anybody know where these drain to? Mine is currently plugged and I am trying to clear it out. I have tried running a rod down it but it was too stiff and would not turn the corner to get to the blockage. Any ideas? Thanks.

There should be an elbow and a hose to an overboard fitting.

It goes out through the transom just below the swim step.

FWIW, if the OEM drain hoses are still being used consider replacing/upgrading them, they can become very brittle over time.

I recently replaced all my hoses. The area you mention has an elbow and a wye as it picks up the deck drain and the hatch drain (as I recall before) it exits the transom just above the water line.

On my 3870 those drains seemed to plug up all the time. I just bought bigger hose and fittings to change the system over to 1 inch. Will find out next summer how much this helps. The old hoses were extremely hard and ready to crack.

I recently had to replace my hoses and connector at the Y joint because it had broken on my Avanti 3255. Wild_Blue_Yonder is absolutely correct here. My drains luckily enough still have the grates over them but I'm considering what Sunbird is saying about clogs now. May have to consider that upsize.
