  • Lopsided throttle

I installed a new turbocharger on my port engine. Now the throttles don't match up (see pic).
Is there a way to adjust so throttles are lined up at same RPM? or should I have changed both turbos?

What other work did you do to the engine?
    What are your boost readings?
Are you getting any sooting on the transom from the starboard side or noticeable black smoke?
Do the lower helm controls show the same way?

Throttles on my 96 4087 have never been even. I go by sound when ‘syncronizing’ the engines.

Why would changing the Turbo have anything to do with the throttle setting ?? throttles and shifters (yours) are connected directly to fuel pump and transmission.

I don't know why - that's my dilemma. All I did was change out a turbocharger.

What other work did you do to the engine? No other work; just oil change and anti-freeze.

What are your boost readings? I don't know what boost reading is or how to test it.

Are you getting any sooting on the transom from the starboard side or noticeable black smoke? No black smoke like port side had.

Do the lower helm controls show the same way? Yes, but even before turbo change.

Replacing a turbo can change power levels. If the prior was worn you may not get full boost. So yes a new turbo can affect your throttle settings. If anything you should have the new turbo throttle less than it used to.
