    3587 sea trial top speed-gctid828281

    Hi,

I was surprised at our 3587 top speed of 29 mph. The surveyer said bringing the engines to upper rpm limits is a indicator of engine condition? Sure seems faster than we will ever have a need for!

25 Knots is very good for that Hull. What is your engine package? Hinos or Cummins? Horsepower?

29 mph is 25 knots. I think you are right where you should be.

Brings up the question, does the speedometer measuring knots or mph?

Your speedometer reads in mph if it is mechanical. If it on your GPS, then it can be set to either. Rpm's are going to be more important to you in managing fuel burn and your optimal gallons per mile.

            That was the speedometer reading.

Pretty sure our pace will be much more leisurely.
