    Sea Tow v BoatUS-gctid828045

I've been with BoatUS for years, never used them. Is there any difference between these 2? I boat from Olympia to Campbell River & beyond. I think I see more Boat US in my cruising, but that could be because I'm signed up with them.

I just checked both their websites. Sea Tow does not show any towing bases anywhere in the Puget Sound or Salish Sea. TowBoatUS has a number of bases in the area from Tacoma and Hood Canal in the south to Salt Spring Island and Vancouver in the north. I remember that there used to be a Vessel Assist/TowBoatUS tower in Nanaimo or Comox, but it's not on their website anymore. So it looks like towing from Desolation Sound or further may not be available anymore.

There is a C-Tow operator in Powell River that covers Desolation Sound.

That's good to know. I went to the CTow site and it looks like they cover from the top of Vancouver Island to the San Juan Islands. Unfortunately they don'y go further south. It's too bad that nobody covers the whole area in question. Vessel Assist used to, but it looks like some of the Canadian towing bases were dropped once it became TowboatUS.
