4588 Tub drain leaks, how to remove for resealing-gctid399370
4588 Tub drain leaks, how to remove for resealing-gctid399370
The sealant between the drain the the tub has gotten old and needs to be replaced. Once you remove the hose, how do you remove the drain so that I can reseal it. It doesn't leak unless your taking a bath. The weight of the water forces out from around the drain fitting and the tub. Sadly, it is also the drain that is farthest from the access panel in the hall way.
Thanks for you help.

I had to do this to both ends of the tub. Take off the wood trim around the sliding black plastic panels. Remove the panels. Remove the vacuum cleaner. Remove the drain hose from the tub fitting. If the tub drain is loose and moves have someone hold it in place from above and unscrew it from below. You need long arms to do this but it can be done.
