58 Bayliner Motor Yacht access to the washer / dryer-gctid818468

Is the only access to the washer / dryer through the removal of cabinet in master state room?

I've never had to get into mine so I am curious also.

Welcome aboard! I have a friend that has a 580 Meridian and I asked him the question. I presume you are looking to get at the back of the units for hoses/cords etc. Provided the layouts are still the same, here is his response.

"The washer & dryer are stacked on top of each other, opposite at the bottom of the stairs. To access the hoses there is a wardrobe in the 3rd bedroom that you can remove the back & side panels like in the 4788."

      Hope it assists. Cheers

Instead of removing everything from the 3rd bedroom we removed the cabinet just to the left as you enter the master stateroom. behind that is a plywood wall. we cut an access hole there to be able to access the water and electrical for hook up.

We removed the cabinet in the Master Suite adjacent to the Washer / Dryer. Cut an access hole in the plywood behind it. About 12"" square. This gave us ample room to in and access the hoses and outlet. We have the new Washer / Dryer installed all is good

          Thanks for all you input

Did you try the 3rd bedroom closet first and had no luck or you just went straight for the master and creating your own access. Just good to know in case I ever need to.

Have to say many people say a washer dryer is something that never gets used on a boat. We use ours all the time and love the convenience of it.

To go through the 3rd bedroom looked like a lot of work. The bunks are in there pretty tight. The access we did by removing the cabinet and wall covering in the master was an easy spot. We now have an easier way to access if ever needed again.

We also had to remove the hand rail going below. Their is a bolt in the middle that has to be removed. If you take the TV out, there is a panel behind it with 6 screws on it. There is an outlet and a cable connection on the panel so be careful not to pull them apart. You can then get back there and get to the bolt, I believe it is 5/8"
