What is the quickest way to get a foot switch for a 96 4788 Windless in the NW? Make and part # ? Can switch be changed all above deck?

Defender, West marine, Fisheries, etc all carry them. I'm not sure of the part number but you can ID them from the pictures on line.

They're very easy to repair.
Just remove it, open it up clean all the parts. (sand off burns or corrosion on the contacts if needed) and put it back together.
I put dielectric grease in to help keep it from corroding.
The last one I repaired was underway to Canada while the admiral ran the boat.

We have Mcgivered a temp fix. It clearly was the switch. Contacts really dirty. When reassembled, it worked but needed more pressure than desired. So addition of a couple thin washers fixed it for now. Ià should work until I get a new one installed. Thanks to my son who has better knees than me.
