Has anyone used (or heard of) (34)stamoid?(34)-gctid817449

Supposedly an alternative to sunbrella, but it doesn't breathe. Anyone have experience with it?

It holds up much better, but as you shared does not breath, so for a Bimini not enclosed on the side it is a great solution with longer life, but if enclosed it creates and even worse greenhouse oven. Ours was open and we liked, then went to a real hard top as it last longer but still not forever.

Other positive is rain, it doe snot let the water in. Very popular in Florida by the way.

Thanks Mark, the boat would be in SoCal also. I can't imagine an enclosed flybridge with that.

I had my canvas fellow custom make me a cover for my 13 foot zodiac when it was kept on a trailer using STAMOID. The dinghy was stored in a secured storage lot NOT under cover and I wanted a quality cover. I was amazed how much UV protection it offered the zodiac. There was vents built into the cover letting it breathe as well as protect. No mildew was sighted using this cover and was light and easy to handle and store. STAMOID is not seen much here in the PACNW but as mentioned previously - Florida is popular probably due to the UV protection.

I have seen "stamoid" or commonly referred to as "moid" used to add strength to sunbrella fabric. I see it often bound to the edging of boat tops where there might be button snaps or common sense fasteners.

I used Stamoid edging when I made my camper top. It's good stuff, but I wouldn't use it for the whole enclosure.

I've been meaning to do that for a couple years now. We'll be over that way in a week or so, which dock in Alamitos? PM your digits if you like, and I'll let you know when we get there.
