Well I have a new boat, some may know I sold my 3587 within a week of putting her on CL and was left boatless. Wanted to go bigger and get a 4788. But like the crazy man I am I took a little look around a 5788 and fell in love with the layout, the beam and just about everything.
I looked at so many other options of boats from Ferriti's, Aziumt, Navigators, Carvers, Symbols etc. but I kept coming back to the 5788. I was in love. No disrespect to the 4788 that I started looking at, it was and is an amazing boat, I just fell in love with the extra weight and room.
So I got super close on one, offer accepted, seller a nightmare to deal with and long story short I walked away. at the same time as I was close to closing I found another and pursued that. and it took nearly 2 months to work through everything. I have had her a couple of weeks now and I can't believe how much I am loving her.
couple of pics.... need to get some really good ones..

Will have a few questions as I go, and will use this thread to share my initial thoughts on the boat.
Note- that's the old name on her, will be changing soon, not quite decided on the final name yet.
Here's my initial thoughts...
- The room, oh the room, I have had a lot of people on the boat and it just swallows them up, and when its just me and my wife- it feels like a proper home, huge galley, everything so usable.
- The power, everything just feels so smooth. the way it accelerates, the way the throttles glide, the way it sounds like a jet airplane taking off when you push her
- The wake, it's just a beautiful sight. (Sorry sailboats and deep water paddle boarders)
- The pilot house- I wanted a Pilothouse for Pacific Northwest weather, but man, even in this sun we are having, with the pilot house doors open it's so cool in there out of the sun I will sometimes drive from there just to cool off.
- Auto Pilot. lot's to learn but I never had one. so cool so easy, so relaxing.
-Thrusters, man I used to sneer at people using them when I didn't have them. but docking this boat is easier than my 3587 by a mile, it responds to prop steering so well but with thrusters, that last foot to the dock is so so easy. I could single hand this boat with less concern than I ever had with the 3587.
- Remote Thrusters, I have the remote with the boat, there is nothing cooler than getting to within a foot of the dock and then slowly walking to the stern and controlling the last foot from the boat, then strolling to the bow and bringing any drift back in as you grab a line. Man it's cool, but more importantly gives you so much confidence and makes everything so much easier.
-Happy Wife, my wife feels so much safer on the boat, she never liked the locks, and hated the swimstep to tie up from, now she has nice walk arounds and a cockpit, she just seems so much more at ease.
-The style, ok this is a personal thing, but I think the boat has beautiful, beautiful lines I love how it looks on the dock and on the water from ever angle
There is just so much to like
Don't want to seem like I am showing off, not bragging, just so smitten with the new to me boat, spend every second at work thinking about the next time I can get to her.
Happy Boater...
